Good morning, Happy first day of February! The Bible Recap Daily Reading: Exodus 7 - 9 The Bible Recap Podcast Day 32 Today's reading focuses on those ten plagues that God used to bring judgement onto Egypt. In her show notes today, Tara-Leigh has given us a study that explains in detail each plague and what specific Egyptian god or goddess it was specifically addressing. For example, the frogs mentioned in the quote above... " The second plague, bringing frogs from the Nile, was a judgment against Heqet, the frog-headed goddess of birth. Frogs were thought to be sacred and not to be killed. God had the frogs invade every part of the homes of the Egyptians, and when the frogs died, their stinking bodies were heaped up in offensive piles all through the land (Exodus 8:13–14). If you are interested in knowing more, here is a link to that study: What was the meaning and purpose of the ten plagues of Egypt? | GotQuestions.org This is all interesting stuff to ponder while we watch the goings on in our world today and recognize that GOD WINS and is in complete control. And, of course, HE is where the JOY is! Thank you, Tara-Leigh for always reminding us of this truth. Have a blessed day!
