Good morning, The Bible Recap Reading: Deuteronomy 21 - 23 The Bible Recap Podcast Day 77 Going to spend another afternoon at the movies this weekend... running a little behind with my day but am looking forward to another viewing of Jesus Revolution with a couple of family members who have not yet seen it. The original point of this site was about highlighting "Entertainment Good for the Soul" so this morning, I thought I'd walk down that road today. Last night, a visit into Pureflix told me that they have a new series based on the Karen Kingsbury book "A Thousand Tomorrows". Watched the first episode and really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the rest of this mini-series about a young man dealing with deep anger at his Father who abandoned his family when he was a child and a young woman dealing with a serious illness - both big names on the rodeo circuit. Karen Kingsbury has such amazing books. I've read a few, though I don't think I've read this one. I love that they have also included a Bible Study video series on the book to be enjoyed along with the series. Pureflix has fantastic content for people who enjoy a little TV but want to be inspired. It is a subscription streaming site which currently is running a starter month for .99 cents, if anyone is interested in checking it out. However, they don't have the one movie I was looking for. Dallas Jenkin's movie that he considers his biggest failure but that I LOVE because it's amazing. "The Resurrection of Gavin Stone". At the time it was released in theaters, it was before people were so open to Christian content at the movies. He should re-release it NOW and see what happens - now that he is quite popular worldwide for "The Chosen". The movie is Easter themed and has a couple of familiar faces in the cast. Brett Dalton (Agents of Shield), D.B. Sweeney (who I know best from the original The Cutting Edge movie early in his career), Neil Flynn (who some of us might know from his work on two highly popular TV shows - Scrubs and The Middle) It is the story of a former child star who was known for being a bad boy, doing his best as an adult to live up to that image.. who gets in a bit of trouble for trashing a hotel room and finds himself doing community service at a large church who just happens to be casting for their Easter production. The actor in him can't resist and he asks to audition for the part of Jesus. Playing Jesus in a story about the Resurrection of Jesus sends him on a faith journey. It's a comedy, but also a heartwarming story... though, it might be a little cheesy in places for some. But overall, it's a lovely story. Which right now can only be streamed on Netflix. Okay, time for me to be productive. Have a blessed day!
