The Bible Recap Reading: Deuteronomy 17 - 20 The Bible Recap Podcast Day 76 This song popped up on my Spotify yesterday and while I've heard it before, many times, it really took on some fresh meaning for me. Everywhere I hear faith people talk: the Pastor of my Church, the Flashpoint host and his guests, Elijah Streams and their guests, even in the watch of the Jesus Revolution movie - there is one theme prevalent in today's world. It is important that we are able to accept people as they are and welcome them into our Church's. Revival is coming. God IS doing something new in today's world, just as He did in the late 60s early 70s. And there are many, many lost souls who will need to be welcomed in to meet Jesus. Maybe some that don't LOOK like what we are used to seeing in Church. Will we welcome them? Or will we be more concerned about the shag carpet then seeing their souls get saved? (Reference, Jesus Revolution conversation between Chuck Smith and one of his Board Members who complained that "half of them are not even wearing shoes. They are ruining the shag carpet." To which Pastor Chuck replied, "so we are concerned about saving the carpet?" The inference being we SHOULD be more concerned about them being "saved" and serving Jesus. Who cares about the carpet, right? Jesus loves ALL people as they are all part of HIS creation, no matter what they are dealing with or participating in or struggling with - HE wants to set them free from the "whatever they are struggling withs" and to see them saved. Will we answer this call from our Father to accept people as they are into our Church's and into our world? My thought for the day. Have a blessed day!
