Good morning, The Bible Recap Reading for Today: Job 40 - 42 The Bible Recap Podcast Day 15 In the end, we find that the book of JOB, is not just a book about suffering hardships. But about Restoration. Job does suffer extreme hardship. But, in the end, when he finally listens to GOD'S voice addressing these circumstances, he is able to deal with the hardships rightly, pray for his friends who spoke so wrongly to him during his trials, and God blesses him with a greater abundance of wealth than he had enjoyed previously. Tara's God Shot: God's heart for restoration is so evident here. He not only restores Job's fortunes and his family, but he also restores Job's relationship with his friends. And most importantly, God restores Job's view of God. GOD sets thing right! And in the end, Job learns that God is Where the JOY is. Something about the ending of this story made me think of this verse. "Consider it pure joy, my brothers, when you encounter trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance." James 1: 2 - 3 Have a blessed day...
Will get the page up for The Chosen: Season 3 episode 6 later today. Good Morning, Daily Reading - The Bible Recap - Job 38 - 39 The Daily Recap Podcast: Day 14 God Speaks! "Is the wild Ox willing to serve you; Will he spend the night at your manger?" Job 39:9 Could God be giving us a little hint about Jesus? Being born in a Manger? These words said while God is reminding Job about just who GOD is and the beauty of HIS creations. Where you THERE when I made... everything? Is the wild Ox willing to serve YOU, will he spend the night at YOUR manger? From Tara's God Shot: "He is the God who hung the heavens and feeds the ravens. He is the GOD who draws near to Job even after Job questions him. (Questions are allowed by GOD always; and GOD does answer them even if sometimes not in quite the way we want him to). He's your creator. He's your Father... and yes... HE IS where the JOY is". Good morning, The Bible Recap Reading: Job 35 - 37 The Bible Recap Podcast: Day 13 Really short on time this morning. I did read and listen but if I'm honest... it was more a "skim" and a distracted "listen". So I will listen/read through it all again this evening so that maybe I can retain it better. The God Shot today was all about "God's Providence"... despite what things look like to our natural minds, we can trust that GOD is at work and God has a plan to fulfill HIS work. We just need to trust HIM and remember.... HE is where the JOY is. God Wins. Have a blessed day! Good morning, The Bible Recap Daily Reading: Job: 32 - 34 The Bible Recap Podcast Day 12 Did you see that in the God Shot? "Sometimes God allows us to struggle because it is part of the process of bringing us out of darkness and into the light". If that is not an illustration of what is happening in our world today, I don't know what is. God Wins... and HE is where the JOY and the WISDOM are! Paraphrased from Tara-Leigh Cobble. I don't know about you, but I'm enjoying this daily read and am committed to seeing it through. The Podcast is short but full of insight and is designed to spark conversation about Bible Study groups who use The Bible Recap as a Bible Study tool. Comments are welcome. Have a blessed day! Has anyone ever experienced such extreme hardship that it makes one question "what did I do wrong for God to allow this to happen to me?" One of the discussion questions challenge us to read through Chapter 31 noting each time that Job says "if".... "If I have walked with falsehood..." "If my steps have turned from the path..." "If my heart has been led by my eyes...." And consider if reading through this chapter where we hear Job's lament, wondering what it is that he has done to cause our Sovreign God to allow his trouble - if reading through all of Job's "If's" causes anything specific to resonate within our own lives and hearts. God Wins! and God is where the Joy (and the Wisdom) is. I truly love she ends each recap with these words. The Bible Recap Reading Day 11: Job 29 - 31 The Bible Recap Podcast Have a blessed day! Good morning, Daily Reading: Job 21 - 23 The Daily Recap Day 9 The study questions today ask the question... why do bad things happen to good people while good things happen to the wicked? There is a question for the ages. I'm not sure I'm smart enough to come up with a good or right response to that but could it be as simple as wicked people are willing to sell their souls for wealth, fame and fortune, never mindful of protecting their eternal souls? Whereas those who love God, and the truth of his words are willing to give up ALL ideas of fame and fortune simply to follow Jesus? Just me thinking out loud. I now know TWO things while listening through these Bible Recap Podcasts. GOD WINS... and God is Where the JOY is! Have a blessed day! Good morning, The Bible Recap Daily Reading: Job 17 through 20 The Bible Recap Podcast I did do my reading but need to head out shortly so will save my comments for a little bit later. Until then, hope you all have a wonderful Sunday. Remember, today is the fifth episode of Season 4 of The Chosen, and while I have been seeing a lot of negative press lately regarding this show that I love, I still want to proceed. Will do a page when I get home later today. Also, will post my thoughts on today's reading from the book of Job. Have a blessed day! Good morning! I'm being pokey on this fine Saturday morning. Sorry to be running so late. Thought I'd go ahead and post the page before doing the reading today, since it is so late. The Bible Recap Reading today is Job 14 - 17 The Bible Reading Podcast Day 7 Will post my thoughts on the reading today in the comments. For now, prayers for our families, our Cities, our Nation, the Nations of the world. God's protection over all those who are trying to do GOD'S work in this time we are living in. Have a blessed day! Good Morning, The reading for today: Job 10 - 13 The Bible Recap Day 6 Podcast "Though he slay me, I will hope in Him", Job 13: 15 It takes a strong person to continue to hope and trust in God when their whole world is falling apart. But somehow, Job manages to do this. I can only hope and pray that if extreme hardship ever falls on me, and up to now I've been blessed, that I would run to Jesus and not lose my faith. Thank you, Jesus, that in the end.... no matter how it all looks to be in my natural mind, I can trust my loving and merciful Father to give me just exactly what it is that I need even if it is not exactly what I want or THINK I need. I will continue to hope and trust in YOU. God Wins. The Bible Recap came with musical accompaniment today. Enjoy and remember, from Tara-Leigh Cobble... "God is where the joy is". Have a blessed day! Good morning, The Reading for Today: Job 6 - 9 The Bible Recap Day 5 I love that she ends every broadcast with "God is where the Joy is". Yes he is. Even when the subject matter is a heart wrenching story such as the life of Job. Job, who never turns his back on God despite the trouble he is being put through by a very real enemy, Satan. Job, who refuses to receive bad council from his friends but instead chooses to trust God. God is where the Joy is. No matter how things look; we know that in the end, God Wins! Have a blessed day! The Bible Recap Day 4: Job 1 - 5 The Bible Recap Podcast Day 4 Well, this is one of those mornings when I'm running late so my reading will have to wait till later today. But, it is the beginning of the Job story. Job, who lost everything at the hands of the enemy, but who never lost his faith throughout all of his struggles. I know I have a lot to learn from Job's story. And for some reason, this song came to mind. One of my favorites from Casting Crowns. Have a blessed day! Good morning, The Bible Recap Day 3: Genesis 8 - 11 The Daily Recap Podcast I love rainbows. In today's reading, we hear the story of Noah and the Ark and a reminder of what the rainbow actually is; a covenant between God and His people, HIS earth. God is where the joy is! What an appropriate song for today; don't think I've heard it before now. Have a blessed day! Good morning, I'm feeling blessed today to have one more day off before going back to work. A day with no real obligations in it but to catch up a few things at home, take down some decorations, and plan ahead for the work week. I love days like this. Those days when no one is really expecting anything of me so I can work at my own pace. I did manage to get a good walk in yesterday... We had some beautiful weather. It was the "prayer walk" I was talking about; however, it did turn into more of a "listening" walk. I think that is a big part of prayer, actually... the concept of getting alone somewhere and making yourself open and available to "hearing" what God has to say. This needs to become a daily practice for me; prayer walking or finding a good "prayer closet" to just sit... and listen. And to pray for my family, my community, my State, my Nation... and the Nations of the world. God Wins. Day 2: The Daily Reading from The Bible Recap: Genesis 4 through 7 - will add any comments I have after I do this devotional in the comments. Have a blessed day! |
