Hello Fans of The Chosen, The much-anticipated Season 3 of The Chosen will be released in November 2022. That gives us a couple of months to revisit the first two seasons. Maybe do a Christmas night with last season's special event called "Messengers" that was actually in theaters. Or the project Dallas Jenkins brought to life for his church called "The Shepherd" which focused on the night of the birth of Jesus and was the jumping point that brought this vision to life of this entire historical journey called "The Chosen". I know, it's not without its controversy. But I find it amazing and would love to find folks to share this journey with.. Plenty of truth in these two quotes from the show. The show is meant to be a look at Jesus through the eyes of his Disciples. I find it incredibly inspiring. If anyone would be interested in doing a deep dive into the first two seasons, then participating in the Watch Parties for Season 3 straight from this site, please let me know in the comments. Will put you on a "tag" list for when we start moving on this adventure. There are plenty of ways to access this show for free. No one needs to pay a streaming service. For example, it has its own App that can be downloaded on your phone and then episodes cast to your TV. If you have a Roku or a Fire TV, there is an App that can be downloaded for free that has all available episodes and extras. Not to mention a few NON-Chosen projects as well. You can watch it on the Dove Channel, I think. BYU. Pureflix. UpTV Faith and Family. Even Peacock. So many sources. So, "Come and See". "Binge Jesus". "Get Used to Different". No matter where you are in your walk with Christ; new, old, or not yet on board; The Chosen is worth the watch. Day 1 of The Chosen 40 Days with Jesus for Season 1 Devotional focuses on this verse and is a look at the "before" we all have. Before we knew Jesus. Before Peter was a disciple, he was a rash, brash fisherman. Before Matthew was a disciple, he was a tax collector and considered an enemy of his people. Before Mary Magdeline was a follower of Jesus... well, the Bible doesn't really give us much of a "before" for her, does it? But somehow, she was one of the first recipients of a miracle. She was the one Jesus was the first to visit after he rose from the dead. She was the one that got the privilege of telling the disciples this good news. She was precious to Jesus, this is obvious. This is why some folks have an issue with The Chosen. In order to tell her story, they had to come up with a reasonable "before" to depict in the show. So, Dallas Jenkins (the creator of the show) has a panel of religious leaders of all faiths that sit around a roundtable and come up together with reasonable "before" stories to depict in the show. (Btw, these Roundtables are recorded and can be watched on the App. One day I'll check those out). Some feel this is adding to scripture. Some have a problem with some of the faiths represented in his roundtable. But I feel that this is a "God-Inspired" project and if people are finding their way to Jesus through it, it's got the hand of God on it in a real way. In this day when, whether it is good or not, TV shows and movies are the main source of entertainment for most of us; I find it amazing that God has a way of meeting us where we are by giving those of us who love good storytelling, a way to hear the greatest story ever told in a way that seems relevant to our generation.
If anyone would care to be a part of this with me, let me know in the comments.
